Understanding User Role Permissions
User Role Permissions allow admins to customize access controls for different roles with toggle buttons, ensuring sensitive information is restricted to authorized personnel while enhancing collaboration.
Permission groups are tailored to specific user actions and application modules. Below is an outline of several key permissions, their functions, and the necessary implementation conditions.
To access this section, go to Admin Settings then click Permission Groups. Then, select a customized Group.
In the Permission Group Details section, you may customize the Permission Group Name and enable or disable the "Limit Case Visibility to Assigned Only" option at your discretion. When enabled, users in this permission group will only see cases that are assigned to them.
Toggle Button Permissions:
View, Create, Edit, Delete
- View: This allows users to access and see information or data within the platform without making any changes. For example, "View" permissions might let a user open and read documents or view case details, reports, and tasks.
- Create: The "Create" permissdddddddion grants the ability to generate new items or records within a system. This could include creating new cases, adding documents, generating reports, or initiating messages.
- Edit: "Edit" permissions allow users to make changes to existing data or records. This can apply to editing case details, updating client information, or adjusting tasks. It’s often restricted to users with more control over the content they manage.
- Delete: The "Delete" function enables users to permanently remove items or data from the system. Typically, delete permissions are carefully controlled to avoid accidental loss of important information and are granted only to higher-level users or administrators.
DETAILED OVERVIEW OF PERMISSIONS by CATEGORY
Enabled Case Permissions:
GENERAL
- View: Grants access to view eviction cases on the Open Evictions Page, Closed Evictions, and through Dashboard links.
- Create: Allows users to create new cases on the Open Evictions Page, and from the “Create” dropdown on the navigation bar or “What’s next” widget on the dashboard.
- Edit: Provides access to edit specific case details and is accessible through the “Edit” buttons on the Eviction Details Page.
- Delete: Enables users to close the Case.
BILLABLE
- View: Grants access to view eviction cases on the Open Evictions Page, Closed Evictions, and thru Dashboard links.
- Delete: Enables users to close the Case.
COMPLETE WORKFLOW STEP
- Create: Enables users to advance to the next workflow by clicking the "Complete Step" button in an open case's Action Panel. Note that the "View," "Edit," and "Create" permissions under the General section must also be enabled.
DOCUMENTS
- View: Grants access to view documents.
- Delete: Allows users to delete the documents.
GENERATE DOCUMENTS
- Create: Allows users to access the "Generate Document" tab in an open case's Action Panel.
MESSAGES
- View: Provides permission to access and view messages on the Messages Page.
- Create: Enables users to generate new messages via the message tab within an open case's Action Panel or directly on the Messages Page.
NOTES
- View: Grants access to view Notes within a case's Activity Log.
- Create: Allows users to add Notes through the Notes Tab in the Action Panel of an open case.
SCRA CHECK
- Create: Enables users to upload documents via the Upload File tab in an open case’s Action Panel, provided that View permission is enabled in the General Section.
TASK
- View: Grants access to view tasks on the EasyEvictions Dashboard, the Today's Tasks Page, and within an Open Case’s Action Panel on the Eviction Details Page.
- Create: Allows users to create tasks via the EasyEvictions Dashboard (What's Next panel), through the "Create a new..." dropdown in the navigation bar, and in an Open Case’s Action Panel on the Eviction Details Page.
- Edit: Provides access to task details on the Tasks panel of the dashboard, where users can click on a task to make changes, use the three-dot menu, and select "Save," as well as through the Open Case’s Action Panel on the Eviction Details Page.
- Delete: Enables users to delete tasks on both the Dashboard and the Action Panel in the Eviction Details Page.
UPLOAD DOCUMENTS
- Create: Enables users to upload documents through ht the Upload File tab in an open case’s Action Panel. However, View must be enabled in the General Section.

- Create: Allows users to create tasks via the EasyEvictions Dashboard (What's Next panel), through the "Create a new..." dropdown in the navigation bar, and in an Open Case’s Action Panel on the Eviction Details Page.
- Edit: Provides access to task details on the Tasks panel of the dashboard, where users can click on a task to make changes, use the three-dot menu, and select "Save," as well as through the Open Case’s Action Panel on the Eviction Details Page.
- Delete: Enables users to delete tasks on both the Dashboard and the Action Panel in the Eviction Details Page.
COMPLETE
- Create: Provides access to complete tasks in the Action Panel of the Eviction Details Page for an open case. The completion is indicated by checking the circle, resulting in a green check mark that signifies the task has been completed.
